Tumble dry, reduced heatBoth standards

Tumble dry, reduced heat

Tumble dry on a low or mild setting.

Reduced thermal action, which means the temperature and often the cycle length too. Heat is what shrinks and felts, so when in doubt this is the safer dial.

Where it sits on the label

  1. Washing
  2. Bleaching
  3. Drying
  4. Ironing
  5. Professional care

Drying comes third of the five. A label is always written in this order and simply leaves out whatever does not apply, so a tag carrying only three symbols is not missing anything. The next shape along yours is the next of these its maker had something to say about.
