The Wash Guide
Do not bleachBoth standards

Do not bleach

No bleach of any kind. Use a bleach-free detergent.

It rules out the bottle under the sink and also the oxygen bleach already sitting in most universal detergents, which is the part people miss. What this asks for is a bleach-free detergent, usually sold as a colour or delicates formula.

Where it sits on the label

  1. Washing
  2. Bleaching
  3. Drying
  4. Ironing
  5. Professional care

Bleaching comes second of the five. A label is always written in this order and simply leaves out whatever does not apply, so a tag carrying only three symbols is not missing anything. The next shape along yours is the next of these its maker had something to say about.
